The power of YOUR book

In 2017, I had an idea for a book.

It was a great idea, but it felt half-baked. People around me said:

“Are you qualified enough for this?”, “Is this the right time?”, “Shouldn’t you spend more time on the business first?”

But I wrote it anyway.

The Book of Coaching came out in 2017. It took me 3 months to write, and it included a trip to Bali and a few weeks spent just writing it out.

Over 100,000 people bought it directly from us. Those readers became a community.

As we built Evercoach, this became the core community..

Eight years later, Evercoach was doing $20 million in annual revenue.

It started with a book I almost didn’t write.

How Mel Robbins Turned One Idea Into a Brand

Mel Robbins was a lawyer with a simple idea (the internet is split if it was even her idea or she got it from somewhere else): Count backward from five when you need to act.

Five. Four. Three. Two. One. Then go.

That was it.

For years, the idea stayed trapped in her voice only.

She taught seminars. Clients loved it. But the idea couldn’t spread because it lived in her head. It was hers alone.

She could have spent years grinding.

Cold emails. Webinars. Building a following one person at a time. That’s the path most people take.

But that wasn’t the path Mel chose.

Instead, she decided to write a book.

A whole book. About just one thing.

The 5 Second Rule came out in 2017.

What happened next was immediate.

People bought it. Everywhere.

People read it on planes, taught it to friends, built their lives around it. The idea went viral because now anyone could access it.

It wasn’t locked behind a paywall or a seminar schedule.

The book made her one of the most booked speakers in the world. She eventually had millions of followers.

All from one book, about five words.

And that is not it, Mel recently shot to fame even beyond with her new book, The Let Them Theory.

The Lesson: A book can build a career.

Why the Coach With the Book Always Wins

A book is the most valuable business asset a coach or consultant can own.

The coach with the book is not always the most talented in the room. But they are almost always the most visible.

You have the talent. You have the frameworks. You have the ideas.

The only thing you do not have yet is the book.

Think about the last time you tried to get in front of a new client.

You sent a message, followed up, asked for a referral, and tried to get a warm introduction. None of it worked.

It is hard. And in today’s world, with everyone’s inbox full, it is harder than it has ever been.

Now think about what happens when you hand someone your book.

You don’t have to explain what you do. It is all in there.

You don’t have to convince them of your methodology. They can read it at their own pace and decide for themselves.

When someone holds your book, something changes.

You are no longer just another coach reaching out. You are the person who wrote the definitive guide. The authority. The person they want to work with.

And here is what most coaches don’t realize until they have published: a book helps you get the right clients.

The ones who have already read your thinking.

The ones who already connect with your philosophy.

The ones who come to the first conversation are already aligned.

Shorter sales cycles. Higher close rate. A practice built on people who were already a fit before they ever got on a call.

Your book is your best business development asset.

Why You Don’t Have a Book Yet

I have watched brilliant people sit on extraordinary ideas because getting those ideas onto paper felt overwhelming.

They say the same things.

“I have so much to say. I just don’t know where to start.”

“I sat down to write and stared at a blank page for an hour.”

“I’ve been saying I’m going to write my book for three years.”

You are not lazy or stuck because you lack ideas.

You are stuck because nobody gave you the right process to get what is already inside you out of you.

A book is not something you sit down and write from scratch.

A book is something you extract.

The Book-Writing Formula

Three steps to turn your expertise into a book.

Step 1: Define the Problem Your Book Solves

Write down the one problem you solve well.

Be specific about who needs this solved. Who is this book for? What keeps them stuck? Why do they come to you?

Example: Mel she started with one problem: fear and resistance stops people from acting. Everything else came from that one idea.

Step 2: Be Clear on Your Voice

Record yourself teaching it. Talk about how you solve this problem for ten minutes like you are talking to a client. Do not write it down. Just speak.

Listen back. That is your voice. That is what your book will sound like.

Example: The 5 Second Rule sounded like Mel talking to you over coffee, not a productivity manual. That is why people connected with it.

Step 3: Write the Step-by-Step (Your Book Outline)

Map out the exact steps someone takes to solve the problem.

Then map out the smaller steps inside each one.

Then find research and real client stories that prove these steps work.

Now you have the skeleton. You have the proof. You have everything you need to build your book.

Example: Mel knew the five second rule worked. She filled her book with stories of people who used it and changed their lives. Real examples made it real.

Let’s Build It Together

You don’t have to do it alone.

I’ve built Book Writer for this exact reason.

It extracts your book in two hours.

This Sunday (19th April) I’m showing you how. I’m helping you build a complete manuscript from start to finish. Live. Real-time.

You’ll see the entire process of how a book actually comes together.

By the end of two hours, you walk away with a complete manuscript. Two thousand to sixty thousand words.

Written in your voice. Built on your frameworks. Ready for the world.
