Most founders get stuck because they try to build the perfect marketing system before they even have a good offer or know what works.
The truth is, your first $70k or $100k can be achieved without anything fancy.
All you need is a clear offer, your phone, and a simple Google Doc to communicate the value you deliver.
How One Client Made $70k in Just 3 Weeks
Just before the holidays in 2025, one of my clients came to me with a goal: make $60k by the end of 2026.
He is an incredible teacher and coach, deeply skilled at what he does, but when it came to building a profitable business, he felt stuck.
Like many passionate coaches, my client had bought into the idea that he needed a fancy website, funnels, and complex systems to succeed.
He had a few people on their email list and a genuine desire to help, but turning that interest into paying clients seemed impossible.
People were interested, but they were not taking action.
The missing piece was clarity.
Clarity about who he was helping, what problem he was solving, and how he could make it easy for people to say yes.
Together, we mapped out a clear offer and a simple way to communicate it.
4 simple emails, one clear message, one specific offer, and 3 weeks. That is all it took for him to close 7 clients for $10,000 each.
The lesson:You do not need any fancy funnels, tools, or even a website when you are just starting out. Until your first $250k, simplicity is your best friend.
Figure Out What People Are Willing to Invest In
It may not be what you think.
Sometimes you want to sell something, but people are not willing to pay for it or there is no urgency. That is why you need the PUP model combined with passion and leverage.
PUP = Pain + Urgency + Ability to Pay
Pain: Is there a real problem your audience is struggling with? People only invest when the pain is genuine and felt deeply.
Urgency: How immediate is the need? If it is not urgent, people will postpone action.
Ability to Pay: Are they willing and able to invest in the solution? Even if the pain and urgency are there, without this, nothing happens.
Passion + Leverage:
Passion: Are you excited and committed to solving this problem? Your energy matters.
Leverage: Do you have the systems, reach, or tools to serve more people efficiently? Leverage turns your effort into impact and results.
When you align PUP with passion and leverage, you create offers that people want, need, and are willing to invest in.
Ask yourself:
- Is this a real problem my audience is experiencing right now?
- How urgent is it for them to solve it?
- Are they willing and able to pay for the solution today?
- Am I passionate enough about this problem to solve it consistently?
- Do I have the leverage to serve many people or scale my impact?
This combination turns your offer from just another pitch into a solution people feel compelled to say yes to.
Have an Offer Document Ready
You do not need a fancy website or a full sales page. A simple Google Doc can do the job.
The purpose of an offer document is to clearly communicate the value you deliver, give your audience confidence, and create a smooth path to enrollment.
Benefits of an Offer Document
Clarity: Shows exactly what your program includes and what people can expect.
Credibility: Explains why your approach works better than what they have tried.
Conversion: Moves people from curiosity to interest, and interest to a conversation.
Selective Enrollment: Helps you qualify the right people while keeping your program curated.
Components of an Offer Document
Big Promise: Introduce the main outcome and the gap your audience is currently experiencing. Explain the problem you help solve.
The Solution: Share your approach, methodology, or principles. Explain why it works and how it is different from what they’ve tried.
Deliverables and What’s Inside: Outline the program structure, class frequency, duration, live sessions, pre-recorded content, and resources.
Why This and Why Now: Include proof, testimonials, and reasons for urgency. Explain why this program matters and why now is the right time to act.
Offer and Investment: Summarize what they get. Depending on the program price, you may introduce the investment later in conversation.
Next Steps: Explain how they can take action, such as filling out an application, sending a message, or scheduling a call.
Call to Action: Invite them to connect with you and start a conversation. The goal is human enrollment, not automated checkout.
A well-crafted offer document prevents confusion, anchors expectations, and makes enrollment feel intentional and natural.
The 4-Step Client Enrollment Framework
Step 1: Identify Your Offer
Use the PUP model. Make sure this is a problem people feel is urgent, and that they are willing to pay to solve. Choose something you are passionate about and have leverage to scale or serve efficiently.
Step 2: Connect with the Right People
Make a list of 20–50 people from your network who might have this problem. If you don’t have an email list yet, reach out personally. Send an audio note or message asking if they know anyone facing this problem and if they are willing to connect you. Explain how you solve the problem.
Step 3: Share the Offer Document
If they show interest, send the offer document. Be available for follow-up questions and have a conversation to clarify the program and transformation.
Step 4: Enroll and Expand
Enroll the client and ask them to refer others who would benefit from your program.
Reflection Prompts
- Which problem am I most passionate about solving?
- Does this problem create real pain and urgency for my audience?
- Are these people willing and able to invest in the solution?
- Do I have enough leverage to serve them effectively?
- How can I connect with the right people authentically?
